Snoory is designed for children. We collect only what is strictly necessary, we never sell personal data, and we never show advertising.

1. Who we are

Snoory ("we", "our", "us") is an iOS application that generates personalised AI bedtime stories for children. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the Snoory app or visit snoory.co.uk.

2. Information we collect

We collect the minimum information required to provide the service:

Account data — if you create an account, we store your email address and an encrypted password via Firebase Authentication. Anonymous use is also supported.
Child profile — optional name, age, gender, favourite colour, and favourite animal. This information is stored locally on your device and optionally synced to your account. It is used only to personalise stories.
Story data — generated stories and story memory snippets stored in Firestore, linked to your account, and used to personalise future stories.
Usage data — basic crash and performance data collected by Firebase (device type, OS version, crash logs). No personally identifiable information is included.
Purchase data — subscription status is verified via Apple StoreKit. We do not receive or store your payment details.

3. How we use your information

To generate personalised bedtime stories using OpenAI's API.
To save your story history and child profile across devices.
To manage your subscription status.
To improve app stability via anonymous crash reports.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.

4. Third-party services

OpenAI — story text is generated using OpenAI's API. Child profile data (name, age, theme preferences) is included in the generation prompt. OpenAI's data handling is governed by their Privacy Policy.
Firebase (Google) — used for authentication, database storage, and crash analytics. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
Cartesia / ElevenLabs — text-to-speech providers. Story text is transmitted for voice synthesis. These services do not receive personal account data.
Apple — subscription purchases are processed by Apple. Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

5. Children's privacy (COPPA / GDPR-K)

Snoory is designed to be used by parents and caregivers on behalf of children. We do not knowingly allow children to create accounts directly. The child profile information entered is used solely to personalise stories and is not shared with third parties for any other purpose.

If you believe a child has provided personal information without parental consent, please contact us at hello@snoory.co.uk and we will delete it promptly.

6. Data retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time via the account deletion page or by emailing hello@snoory.co.uk. We will delete your data within 30 days of a valid request.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@snoory.co.uk.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), Firebase Security Rules, and hashed password storage. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Snoory after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
